Team Spotlight: Getting to Know Corey Kiewiet

Corey Kiewiet | Manager of Investment Operations May 6, 2026 Team Member Spotlights

At our firm, we believe that the true value we provide doesn’t just come from tickers, spreadsheets and plans—it comes from the people who work tirelessly behind them. This month, we are delighted to feature Corey Kiewiet in our Team Spotlight. Whether he is navigating complex account transfers or sharing a laugh in the office, Corey’s dedication to our “family-first” mission is evident in everything he does.

The Path to Finance: A Journey of Perseverance

Corey’s professional journey is a story of hard work and adapting to the moment. After attending Minnesota State Mankato and Normandale College, Corey ultimately earned his Finance degree from North Dakota State University (NDSU).

He entered the professional world during the height of the pandemic in May 2020. Like many recent grads at that time, he faced an incredibly tough job market and initially took a role out of necessity to keep the bills paid. However, what started as a practical choice quickly turned into a passion.

“College taught me to keep persevering until what you’re looking for comes,” Corey reflects. “If you put your head down and do what you’re supposed to do, things have a way of working out.”

Before joining us, Corey built a well-rounded foundation, working at the YMCA, serving as a bank teller, and completing internships at Wintrust Mortgage and a Farmers Insurance agency. When a friend and GSF team member referred him to our firm, Corey knew he had found his professional home. The draw? Our reputation for being a family-first firm—a value that hit home as Corey began building a family of his own.

Going Beyond the Balance Sheet

When you ask Corey what makes our firm unique, he doesn’t talk about dollar signs or model portfolios. Instead, he highlights the “above and beyond” service that defines our culture. He thrives on partnering with our advisors as they guide clients through the “unseen” aspects of financial life—negotiating career moves, reviewing workplace benefits, or coordinating the logistics of a major purchase like a new home or car.

Corey’s commitment is best illustrated by his “never-say-die” attitude. Last year, a client needed an account funded before the December 31st deadline. With the clock ticking, Corey spent over two hours on hold with a custodian on one of the final days of the year just to ensure the transaction crossed the finish line.

“I’d like our clients to know that if there is an end goal established, I will do whatever it takes to make it happen,” says Corey. “I have a very hard time taking ‘no’ for an answer when it comes to a client’s success.”

Life at Home: Family, Fatherhood, and “Miss Rachel”

Corey’s life outside the office is just as active as his life inside it. He and his wife, Lindsey—who he met while they were both working at the YMCA Children’s Center—have been married for two and a half years. They are currently the proud parents of 1 ½-year-old Nathan, and their family is set to grow this autumn! They are eagerly expecting a new addition to the family at the end of September.

When he isn’t at work, Corey is a true family man. You might find him:

  • Exploring: Taking Nathan to the Zoo or going for family walks.
  • Outdoors: Enjoying a quiet morning hunting or fishing.
  • Unwinding: Enjoying a date night with Lindsey involving a nice dinner and a new show (they are currently fans of Landman).

Corey also admits to a surprising secret talent: he is an expert at detail-oriented cleaning. “I’m very meticulous when it comes to our household,” he laughs.

A Mindset of Growth

Corey describes himself in three words: Outgoing, Laid-back, and Compassionate. He is a natural at making people laugh (often through self-deprecation), but his primary goal is always the happiness of those around him.

Interestingly, some of his recent inspiration comes from an unexpected source: his son’s favorite show, Miss Rachel.

“There’s a song she sings about choosing how you feel. Even though it’s for kids, it’s so relevant for adults. I can’t always control what happens, but I can control whether I dwell on it or look for the positives.”

As he looks toward the future, Corey is excited to grow alongside our firm, mastering new tax, planning, and investment strategies and—most importantly—stepping into his new role as a father of two.
